A Pet Friendly Day in Byron Bay

Take your pet to the beaches

There are several dog-friendly beaches around Byron Bay that allow your pet to roam both on and off leash. Belongil Beach and Tallows / Suffolk Park dog beaches are closest to the town centre. You can check out the Byron Shire council website for a list of the others!

Get some coffee and pastries at The Farm

After the morning at the beach, you can head to the Farm to get some well-deserved coffee and pastries; they also make delicious sausage rolls. They have a large outdoor seating area for you to enjoy breakfast or take a stroll around the grounds.

Walk along the Lennox head cliff trail

Unfortunately, the lighthouse trail is a national park, so you cannot take your little 4-legged pals up there. However, if you’re looking for a similar experience, you should walk the cliff trail of Lennox Head. You can start at the Pat Morton Lookout, located in the Lennox Point car park. The trail goes to Sharpes beach, but you can walk as far as you like. The view is spectacular, and in the right season, you will be able to see whales and other sea life.

Take your dog to the pub

Everyone enjoys a cold beverage on holidays, and the Eltham is the perfect place that will allow your pet as well. Located 25 minutes from Byron Bay, through a beautiful hinterland drive. They have a large outdoor area and serve elevated classic pub dishes and all your usual beers on tap. You might even catch some live music if you check out their gig guide before you go.

Back to your pet-friendly Byron accommodation
